Hi Guy! You can certainly use Logic for this! Garageband should work fine too. I know there are some other tools available that make this process a bit easier, but to be quite honest, I'm not sure what they are ... maybe somebody else can pipe-in here ... I've been spending the last several years digitising my record collection from when I used to DJ in the 90s ... it is a tedious and time consuming process ... but it sounds really cool in the end because you get the "vinyl" sound in your digital recordings.

i use ableton but it doesn't really make a difference to my ears. however, all hardware that sits in the signal path from your turntable to your audio interface colours the sound to some extent. i'm not sure what kind of setup you have but make sure you have a decent audio interface (dont use the microphone in) and a decent clean stylus. i am a bit of an audiophile so i took things a step further which i don't need to get into here happy recording Guy

I would have to say Peak here, if thats all you wanted to do. Simple but powerful interface, and sounds great.

I have been using Audacity, downloaded it for free. Its really easy to use, Although im not sure how it compares to other methods, as its the only one ive tried so far.
