Hi Alan, There are a lot of 3rd party instruments out there that can be used in all the major DAW's. Out of that bunch, Native Instruments are one of the most well known and popular from composers to producers to sound designers. For example, I know that NI's Absynth featured heavily in the film, The Matrix... I imagine NI Kore & Complete are both great packages that suit many computer musicians' needs (both Logic and non-Logic users) I think you can find demos of many of NI's products on their website if you were interested in checking them out... but yes, there's a lot of content!!!
