I'm not finding an obvious way to have automation repeat when I repeat a region in one track. When I repeat this region several times, the automation under the repeats is set to zero (infinity... no level). There must be a way to have the automation follow these new regions. Ideas?

Okay, I just figured out how to copy and paste from region to region, but still don't see how to make the automation stick with a region when either repeating it or copying and pasting it further along in the track...

Hi Sammydave, Go to: Logic Pro > Preferences > Automation Here you can choose what Logic does with automation when you copy a region. Under the "Move Automation with Regions" menu choose either 'Ask' or 'Always'. Now when you move or copy a region the Track Based Automation will be moved or copied with the region. Cheers Rounik

I found this solution in the Logic manual, but it doesn't seem to work. I switched to Always, copied and pasted a region elsewhere on the original track, and when I went to automation mode, the nodes haven't copied; all automation is baselined (I don't know the proper term for this - when levels are set to nothing...).

Hi Sammy, it might help if you post up some screenshots so we can work out where you're at. For example, I've just done these to show you how the process should work. 1. Choose the option you prefer for how to handle copied automation data in the automation preferences. I personally prefer the 'ask' option. Option drag the region with automation you want to bring with it and you 'should' be prompted (if you choose the ask option) if you would like to have the automation copied across [img]http://img27.imageshack.us/img27/6126/automationcopy.png[/img] 4. Say yes... and your automation data should be there with your copied region. [img]http://img196.imageshack.us/img196/2686/automationcopied.png[/img] Now, just to give you some options, there is a way where you can embed the automation data in to the region making copying and rearranging with said automation a doddle. Select the region with the automation data with it in the arrange page and choose the following from the Options, track automation menu... I just saw JF's hyperdraw comment! Yup, yet another alternative! Either use hyperdraw directly with the region to 'burn' it in, or track automation and then burn it in the region as I just outlined.... once again the poor cat can be skinned a number of ways.
