    Lion OS X startup/desktop issue
Hi, I enjoy the new Lion OS X upgrade. One problem. When I start my iMac the desktop opens with several applications on the desktop. I did the utility thingy wherein the programs were disabled, but the apps keep coming opening up on startup (i.e., Firefox, Mail, Twitter and a two games). How do I get rid of this annoying issue? Thanks

Did you have the applications open when you shut down your Mac? It sounds like Lion's new 'Resume' feature. When you restart your Mac it remembers what applications you had open and resumes where you last left it off. You can disable the resume feature by going to System Preferences > then select the General tab and uncheck the box that says "Restore windows when quitting and re-opening apps." Or the applications may be set to launch on startup. You can check this by going to System Preferences > Accounts. Unlock the lock on the bottom left. Then click on your user account on the left and choose Login Items on the right. Here you can remove items that launch on startup.
