I know there are videos of how to use Cubase but all the music production tutorials are for logic or pro tools or Ableton.Sure, some of what they offer can be applied to most daws in general but it's definitely not the same as following along a well known producer who's using the same host as I am explaining the same the use of how he uses features specific to the same software I use. Hi R, What I mean is for example "producing rock" "producing hip hop" "producing electronica"...using Cubase with Cubase files you can interract with (well, maybe the interracting is going a bit far for this platform but you get the idea. I have quite a few MacVideos which I like but what frustrates me is that all the actual music production ones they have are for Logic, protools and ableton live users.Sure,much can be adapted to whatever software your using however,many tips and tricks are specific to the particular program being used in the tutorial and I don't see much in the way of using Cubase to explain the ins and outs of music production. I believe that someone with a different program gets some but not nearly all of the same benefit as someone able to follow along using the same program used in the tutorial. Seems Cubase users are left in the dust so to speak as far as music production videos goes unless they just want to learn about Cubase operation itself (by the way, I have all the Cubase Macvideos, spectrasonics and others which are ALL excellent and that's why I think tutorials that take you through a song from recording to mixing type production videos for Cubase users would be excellent as well. I also have the Cubase mastering video so that's why I didn't include mastering (great job guys!) Now lets get out there and give Cubase music production people some respect (just kidding). Thanks

I'm glad you got it the way it was intended. Nothing against the guys that do these production tutorials who, imo, are some of the tutorial guys I've seen out there and it makes perfect sense for them to be experts in the software they use. We Cubase users would just like the same qualified expert who happens to write and produce songs on Cubase. And think about how many song writing and producing books are selling out there. There'll always be a market for someone just starting out and a beginner will always seek new and interesting ways to "begin" his quest to become what we assume he already is when you think about it no matter what the field is. Mac Pro is apparently aware of that since they have a "fundamentals" video tutorial selection. Songwriting and producing is really no different.

I do have Pop Music Production (Pro-Tools), Mix Urban Pop,Hard Rock with Logic and am considering the Olav tutorials as well. All very good. I know, send all these guys your great Cubase tutorials to learn and have them come back in a week and do a production tutorial using Cubase. lol!

I was thinking that on almost every forum home recordists are really concerned with how to get commercial volume from the mixing stage to self mastering stage. Maybe you guys would consider that? It's a very popular subject that can be difficult to get good results without some knowledge based tutorial on how it's done.

Hi Gary and thanks for the response. I'm using Cubase and what I was getting at was how to get good mixing volume leading up to the mastering before adding loudness plugins. More on perceived volume from just plain good recording habits before slamming a track to death if that makes sense but your tutorial suggestion would be very welcomed. Thanks

That looked very familiar so I checked my tutorial stock and found that I had actually purchased 401and 101 and I guess I got way side tracked for whatever reason never dug into them. I will now. I have a bad habit of accumulating plugins and I guess tutorials are a close second. Much appreciated.

With the upcoming updates that will make Trilian, Omnisphere and RMX even more interactive as a group, a tutorial on Stylus RMX would only make sense since there's already one for Omnisphere and Trilian. Spectrasonics has proven RMX isn't going away. it's only getting better and more in sync with Omnisphere and Trilian.

I bought the Cubase mastering tutorial and it's great but at the same time it's sort of like bringing the cart before the horse. Now I'm all set up to master a turd. Should could use a general guidance mixing tutorial that covers common practices and eq frequencies, vst instruments,guitars ing a mix up for mastering etc. A Great master begins with a great mix so how about a great mix tutorial? Hi, I would say mostly pop,rock,r&b hip hop,progressive rock. I bought a couple of mixing tutorials from groove3 where they take a song and break it down and tell you what they did. I was hoping for more of general mixing theory type thing with not just what they did according to their taste but why they do it according to their knowledge of basic mixing theory that can generally apply to all music like most commonly used eq,compression settings of various instruments and general relative volumes in a mix etc etc Thanks dblock
