Hi TT, For the last 12 months I have been running Logic 8 on a 2.16 imac, with 3 gig ram, OSX 10.4.11 with no problems. Before going to Logic 8, I backed up all my Logic 7 Songs as PROJECTS to a dedicated external hard drive, (along with templates, channel strip settings, plug-in settings, sampler instruments & anything else I thought I'd need...) and everything has been fine. As Rounik said "...Logic 8 is great! I thought I'd still use 7 occasionally, but it didn't happen!..." Have FUN... : ) Bj

Hi Jodie, If that's not the issue, (Ultrabeat playing twice) try reducing the volume of the Channel Ultrabeat is in. Also check-out what plug-ins are used in the Channel Strip... eg: Compression, Limiters, etc... they will all have an impact. Hope this helps, Cheers, Bj

Hi Jodie, Very Sound advise there from Rounik... : ) I always like to get the Instrument (Utrabeat) sitting comfortably (not clipping) in the Channel Strip by adjusting the CS volume before adding anything... Also, if you're not already aware, and I'm sure you are, when selecting an Ultrabeat Kit from the Library (Media) various, relative, Plug Ins (eg: Compressor, Limiter, etc.) are loaded into the Inserts section of the Channel Strip. Hi, Can't help you with the EXS part of the question... but regarding the second part... where possible I have my applications on my main computer, an external firewire hard drive that I write/compose and save my Projects to and an other external firewire drive that I store my Music Libraries on. I've been doing this for a year or so and its been working well. Hope this is of some help. Cheers, Bj

Hi Steeve, To check if your iMac can run an 800 firewire device go to System Profiler - found under the Blue Apple Icon Top Left of Desktop, About This Mac, more info - and click on Firewire (under Contents, Hardware) and that will show you what your Max Speed is.
