Christian suggested I post this here: Hi, i haven't found anywhere on the forums or the tutorials on how to get Audio when I am using my midi keyboard. I can get Audio when using a Software Intrument but not an Audio Track or region. When it does play through the software instrument track it doesn't show as output on the Bar where midi in and midi out is. What am I not doing right? I am using the Edirol PCR-300 and finally ws able to get some issues resolved but the output from midi is not happening. My keyboard is not listed in the Setup of Logic when I rescan it doesn't recognize or pick it up. Is there another one that emulates it that is in the LP9's Setup area for midi controllers?

Hi, Since the tutorial above included the quicktime synth for the Environment tutorial and it is not in the Evironment of Logic Pro 9.1.5 does anyone know if it has been replaced by something else? All I have found is Rewire where Quicktime Synth used to be? I found a Quicktime Synth and posted it on another inquiry here but it is in the Channel Strip settings and not in the Environment. I have searched the Environment and elsewhere. So how does one follow the tutorial when it is mostly based upon the "Quicktime Synth"? Any help would be greatly appreciated. O'k probably shows how much I know about midi. Brand new controller. Downloaded the driver to use the Editor it shows up in Audio/Midi setup area but doesn't show up in Logic Pro anywhere. I've searched the web and have had no success. I'm sure this is an easy one for the pros. Is there something that is not in the manual or on the site or in Apple's discussions that I am missing? It isn't showing up in the list in Logic Pro at all. Midi is going in by looking at the window Logic is accepting midi but I can't get it to Learn any of the functions because it is not showing up as a usable controller in the list. I did a rescan and uninstalled and re-installed the driver and editor. Re-booted. closed and re-opend Logic, nothing. What is it that I am not gettting or I am missing here? Sorry if this is a repetitive question. I searched the forums here and din't find anything that will make Logic see the controller. Thanks again in advance. The answers can always be found here, luckily for me. :-(

Hi, this is probably simple but I have followed all the tutorials and can't stop "system overload". I have checked and watched Activity monitor. There is over 4.16 gig available. No Airport, No Time Machine, No I Chat, System preferences set correctly. Using Mainstage 2.2.2 with a Duet Firewire 800 and an SM 58. I adjusted the sample rate from 32 to 64 to 128. I am set at 64-bit. No other instrument is plugged in just a single concert with a vocal microphone template. System Overload keeps popping up randomly. MainStage continues to work fine is this a bug or is there a way to stop the window from popping up? I am on a MacBook Pro with Mountain Lion 10.8.2. 8 gig ramI am not logged in to anything, ICloud App Store etc.. or the internet. CPU in MainStage is at the halfway mark. as is memory. All updates have been done and all programs aree turned off through activity monitor. No antivirus. I do not have any windows applications nor do I use any windows applications. Is there any other program I can disable through activity monitor I do not know about or does anyone have an answer to this annoying problem. Hi, thanks for the reply and attempt. I have done all of the above. If I knew what I could turn off through activity monitor that might be eating up the memory or causing the problem without quitting system needed files it might help. I am not sure and am still battling the problem. Personally I think MainStage is above and beyond any "live" computer related program available. There are so many changes in the 2.2.2 version that MPV has not done any tutorials on without duplicating what has been done by MPV. Especially for guitarists. It has become a trial and error to learn the upgrades made to MainStage. The new interface in the way parameters and assignments are done. How to switch from one loopback to another when using more than one. I am still looking for the most compatible midi keyboard with Mountain Lion. The GIO was a great addition :-) I'm sure someone will come up with why MS keeps sending this "overload message". Peace

Hello fellow users, Still cannot stop MainStage from "System Overload" message. Have tried all suggestions. plenty of RAM even moved preferences to 128 for latency. No third party plug-ins in use. MainStage 2.2 Mountain Lion 10.8.2 Activity Monitor doesn't even spike when this occurs. Cannot find any specific action as I follow each thing I do. Just keeps coming out of no where. Someone must have an answer i hope.

This may be simple and I'm not getting it. Is there a way to change out a pedal on the fly using pedalboard in MS-2.1> Setup is a MacBook Pro 10.6.2 4gig ram (going to 8 is expensive) with the GIO and the Edirol PCR-300. Thanks to all the MPV'ers for the transition from old school to the future otherwise I'd be back at old school reading the million pages that come with LP8/9. Hard for MPV to keep up with the rapid changes from LP8/MS to LP9/MS2. Right now I'm using NI-GR4 as a plug-in on the channel strip and it's CPU intensive and the FC-300 by Roland (best midi foot controller I've ever used highly recommend) to use the effect pedal. I've done the same with the VG-99 by Roland and it to is CPU intensive. If there is a way i know I'll find the answer here. Thanks for taking the time to read this and for all the help along the way. Ahhhhh "The Duet"......and with this GIO! No more breaking the back :-) I was disappointed with the quality of the audio from the GIO but was fortunate to have "The Duet" the quality and latency can't be beat. IMHO. Hi, Using Version 2.1.1 MS. Cannot map the screen controls as in the tutorial. Each knob on the Edirol PCR-300 when mapped by selecting the channels aren't changing. Selecting each knob and all the knobs when mapped are all doing the same thing after being mapped in layout mode. Knobs 1,2,3 and 4 all turn @ once no matter which knob you choose. Anyone know why or how to correct this? I tried changing the channels manually in layout mode under the "Learn" button and then I end up with 2 or 3 knobs on Channel 3 doing the same thing using either knob they all move. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Peace! AC
