I have applied you remedy in a different situation - Not in the synchronization issue I wanted help for, I think the remedy will also work for the synchronization issue as well. But now I had a different problem and I solved that with your remedy (sampling 44.1 changing in couple of places). Today I was trying to do some parralel compression NYC in my Drums and Bass. The compression gave me real good sound but issue is different. While I was bouncing to 2 track and burned onto a CD, it was giving me distourted sound. I tryied to fix compression rate in many places but could not solve and finally I applied you sampling remedy and it worked. But I have questions: 1. you told me to change the sampling rate in HD>Application>utilities>Audio Midi Setup to 44.1 as well in Logic arrange window>audio>sampling rate to 44.1. I also changed sampling in RME interface to 44.1. But why change to 44.1 in MAC, there are options for 48Khz as well in there. Why you specified 44.1. 2. I was working on a project which I recorded at 48 Khz because of music video. But I faced the problem of distortion as I mentioned above. But you know what - while I chabged the MAC's sampling to 48 Hz and RME to 48Khz and Logic was in 48khz from the begining, still I had the distortion problem after bouncing and burned onto CD. If it is a constrain in MAC's sampling to keep it 44.1hz then how I will record at 48 or over when it is needed? My present project already recorded at 48 but it is giving me distortion, if I change it to 44.1, distortion goes away but my tracks gets total crap because of sampling change. Hi Could someone help me. Afte Upgrading my OS 10.4 to 10.4.11 and logic 7 to 7.1 through internet, whenever anything I record and bounce in 4800 Khz sampling, it gets distorted in the burned CD. But if I do it in 44.1, it does not get distorted. I tried many ways keeping sampling to 4800 in Logic, MAC(application > utilities > midi sampling) and in my RME fireface 800, but even then it gets distorted. But in 44.1 it works fine. Please help me to fix this problem. One of my project has to be done in 4800. Thanks in advance. Tulu

Hi According to your instruction I have checked Disk Utility for main drive and found 4 errors as follows: 1. Incorrect number of thread record. 2. Volume Bit Map needs minor repair. 3. Invalid Volume free block count. 4. The volume Macintosh needs to be repaired. Now please tell me what to do. I new in MAC and dont know much about it. I use Toast 6 titenium for burn CD. I dont use quicktime. Right now tried to burn in AIFF and had the same problem. Waiting for your response. Thanks

Hi Rounikc G I checked with verify disk and found 4 errors as I mentioned before. OK I am going to click repair permission button. I use Mac G5 quad and OS was 10.4. I have the original OS 10.4 disk which came with G5 when I bought. I had Logic Pro 7 installed before this Logic Pro 7.0.1 upgrade. What should I do - reinstall the prev Logic Pro 7 or OS 10.4. If I need to reinstall the prev OS, please give me step by step instruction. I need to back up most of my Logic and Final Cut projects so please give me step by step instruction for backup as well. I have an extra 250 gig external lacie hardrive. Thanks for your help. Tulu

Dear Rounic Yes I am burning audio CD. I recorded my project in 48Khz and now if I select 44.1 sampling rate in my logic, total song gets messed up loosing the tempo. Before this upgrade I used to bounce in 48Khz and even 24 bit and WAV selected in the pre bouncing window (interface) and it was totally OK, never gave me any distortion. Thanks Tulu

Are you trying to burn an audio CD with an audio file at 48000hz? If so, there will quite possibly be some distortion because CD-audio can only support 44.1Khz. When bouncing your audio file from Logic select 16bit and 44.1khz and check the 'dither' checkbox. If you don't need to listen to the audio file on CD but just use the CD as a data CD then in toast select the data tab. OK. If the above doesn't apply to you please ignore it. To back up your important files and folders from Logic and FCP it really depends on where you have saved them. Logic by default saves them to HD> Users > (your user name) > Music > Logic copy the project folders you've created to the external HD.... or you could use a program like Carbon Copy Cloner or SupaDuper (google these) to clone your existing HD to the lacie. That way you'll have a complete copy of your system with OS 10.4.11 and logic 7.1 on the lacie. You can then reformat your mac HD (using disk utility)and use the os x disc that came with your mac to start again. I'd recommend for the future keeping a cloned backup of your system on an external disk and performing updates once you have a fresh working (and tested) backup - so that if there are any issues you can restore your fully working system more easily. I selected 44.1 in the pre bounce window eve though it was a 48Khz project. Then I select dithering, as well as I selected 16 bit and WAV. Hi Rounik No I dont get distortion when I play iTunes. Before update to 10.4.11, i did not have distortion problem. I have tried with my old project which was done before update and it gives me distortion now. The same project which was done in 48Khz before update did not have any problem before after burning CD.
