I'm also considering upgrading to Logic 8. I have a couple of questions, though.
1) When I upgraded to Logic Pro 7.2 from Logic Express 7, I found I had to get Logic Express completely off my iMac G5 before I installed Logic Pro. I tried installing Logic Pro with Logic Express still on the computer first and Logic Pro had all sorts of problems. Once I uninstalled Logic Pro, purged Logic Express and reinstalled Logic Pro the problems were cleared up. If I was to install Logic 8, would it likewise make sense to purge Logic 7 first? Or would Logic 8 overwrite and, essentially, upgrade Logic 7?
Which leads to my second question...
2) How much space do I really need on my main internal hard drive for Logic 8? My internal HD has only 80 G, of which there is generally only about 8-12 G available open space these days. It sounds like Logic Studio, with its various components is HUGE, far larger than my HD could contain (probably even if I purged Logic 7).
thanks for any feedback.
