I'll check input monitoring.. should it be on or off? In a band situation recording multiple people live using mics, d.i. boxes, keyboards in directly... no midi, only audio channels did not create anything in the environment , only created aux channels by inserting busses in channel strips etc...

using presonus FP10's.. they are very simple... input slot, gain level, headphone level, mixer/playback level. on the channel strip ensure "I" is not selected? other place to set input monitoring is located in preferences/audio/devices/independant monitoring level check box... leave it unchecked in Logic?

I am recording an electric guitar direct... dry would like to record only the dry signal, but while recording I would like to record with some effects i.e. reverb in the monitor what is the best way to do this? ...thought I would output the electric guitar channel strip to a bus and add effects the the bus channel strip then output the bus channel strip to the stereo output, but doesn't seem to be working what did I miss? Hello I am working on a project that has audio and midi tracks, used flex time editing, automation etc... I bounced all tracks in place to save my processor and continued editing. now as the project is nearing completion the performer has requested to speed up the recording; I thought "cool I can finally try out varispeed" I increased "speed only" at 5% and it seems to be producing some artifacts; when I increase with "speed and pitch" it seems to work fine... except that I don't like the pitch change. Thoughts? Jeff

Live and learn, I guess :( by changing the global tempo with audio tracks that would change the pitch right? Jeff

I am recording a guitar part over drums and bass. I would like to rehearse my guitar part by hitting record enable button and playing a loop of a section of the song, however I cannot hear myself unless I hit the record button versus the play button. I don't want to record yet I want to rehearse Jeff

Exactly what I want to do; cycle a part of the song while my track is "record enabled" without actually recording. I think I used to do it... I'm suspecting a setting got changed.. I just upgraded to lion 10.7.4 for the purpose of iCloud. I use Logic 9.1.7(1700.57)(32-bit) m-audio firewire 410 record button enabled ... I hear myself play... as soon as i hit the space bar my recordable track audio goes silent.
