hi, is mg meaning MB? never mind... ... so, if your source file is PAL or NTSC which is in resolution 720(768) x 576 lines...reduce it to half(i mean if you want)... then frame rate is 25(pal) or 30(NTSC) you can reduce a bit;-) like 15 FPS(frames per second)but it depends on your material(if it is kinda toon look or more graphical video you can reduce it to 15fps, then again if it is more organic;-) real people, lots of movement you go with higher Frame Rate)...and the codec which is a key for good picture...use mpeg-4, or h.264 and always use multipass option(if you want, i mean;-.) ... about the sound: use less compression on sound...use higher bitrate watever compressor u use... sound is low in bandwith. Why? people can tolerate bad picture prior to bad sound... ... as i recall youtube has its own directions for encoding videos for it...RTFM ,heh hope it helps m.

I agree with a lot of what md has already said. I'd like to add that compression is a big topic and the idea of reducing file size by say half while keeping the quality of the video the same is not realistic unfortunately. In order to reduce the file size... something has to be compromised :( But, along with what md suggests I'd recommend the tutorial on Compressor for more details on how to make your video smaller while trying to maintain it's quality overall: http://www.macprovideo.com/tutorial/compressor3101 Cheers Rounik

Hi Tulu, All these settings can be found when you export your video as quicktime. Choose: Options from the save as window and dig deeper using the buttons to find the size, filter and one other button too ;-) Cheers Rounik

Hi Tulu, I second what Rounik says and if I were you, I'd get the tutorial on Compressor as there is a section dedicated to prepping files for YouTube. YouTube DOES do it's own compression, but you can prepare the footage in a certain way to make sure you get the best results possible... but bear in mind it will be compressed a lot which is why Youtube videos look as bad as they do!
