Great set of tutorials! While there are some concepts which for newer users may seem simply breezed right over (like dealing with clipping in the first section and what is actually going on when applying the limiter later on), this course was a great refresher and there was never any point where the viewer could be completely lost or scratching their head, but instead inspired to work side-by-side in Logic with the tutorials to refine one''s understanding of each concept.
Pretty good introduction to Logic Pro X features. The only thing I have to say is the instructor goes over certain topics very fast and doesn't explain them very well. Also throughout the whole course he failed to mention a lot of the key commands which are extremely important to be fast in Logic and in any other DAW. Like for example, the shortcut to open the library is Y, Smart Controls B, Mixer X, Toolbar Ctrl+Option+CMD+T etc.
Great beginner course! David Earl does a great job at explaining everything he goes over clearly and at a reasonable speed! Nice quick overview of the simple functions in Logic X.
Amazing course!!!! :)) I'm learning so much! This is priceless...
Awesome tutorial. I've been suing Logic since forever and still learned so much. Thanks a bunch.
Have been following Mr Earl since Logic 9 and his YouTube days. He is still as helpful as ever and easy to learn from. Also as a high school music teacher, he has given me some great tips that will help my students do more with Logic and song creation. Thanks SFLogicNinja!!
Excellent for start in this wonderfull tool. have to be the first course to look for begginers
Great introductory course, if you can't up and running from here you're hopeless.
Great man thanks for the help.
Superb course, well paced, well explained. A great overview of Logic Pro X main functions.
I love this course. David Earl is very thorough and the step by step descriptions are easily understandable. If I miss something, I can rewind and play over as many times as I need to. I highly recommend these courses.
Excellent course by David Earl on the fundamentals of creating a song in Logic Pro X. He demystified the new user interface and demonstrated the new features in creative ways. My only negative is I would have preferred him to have informed us on key commands.
David Earl's coverage of Logic Pro X is on point, no complaints here. MPV, David Earl, what a combo!
Nice gentle introduction to Logic X. I would have liked it to have been a bit more interactive,
Awesome tutorial to overview a lot of the basic features of Logic Pro X. Imperative if you are a beginner, but lots of awesome little tid bits even if you are a seasoned user.
A great introduction. I picked up lots of little tricks. The pace was great for a beginner's course. Cannot wait to do some more.
Great clear start to an introduction. not dry. fun and more than imformative.
This was a very clear course and walked me through one of my first logic arrangements to make it much much much better, between this and the "whats new in logic course" I am well on my way to proper mixing and a good work flow. I also highly recommend the mixing&automation course too!
An 'ok' introduction. Many commands the author uses are not explained (shortcuts, what they are used for). Looking forward to more detailed courses.
Good sense of humor. Keeps the videos short. Moves a bit fast in a couple of spots and doesn't explain certain shortcuts he takes. Very good course!
Five Stars all the way. I've taken this course a few times now, and every time I do, I learn something new.
A nice and quick intro to Logic Pro X! Can't wait to seen more courses!
really help full !!! thanks david and mac pro video
Nice intro course to the new version of logic. Takes you all the way from start to finish so it's quite helpful.
Great Info and Instructor!!! The information provided is insightful and paints a clear picture of what the program is all about!!
Thanks David, that's a great introduction - easy to follow................
I would highly suggest anyone who is completely unfamiliar with using a DAW (like myself) to take the 100 course (What's new in Logic Pro X) prior to taking this course. I watched both courses on my iPod and followed along with every single aspect in Logic on my laptop. Some of the Apple Loops and sounds may not always be the exact same as the instructors, but it is an example, just grab a different track and continue with the learning. I wrote tons of notes. Issues I had with the course: -Track/File when editing an audio region. I had a hard time in video #30 following what he was speaking about because my screen did not match his. I did not have Track and File as options on my screen. I messed with some of the Preferences configurations and figured out how to toggle that aspect on and off. In the comment section of this course I have found that others were struggling with the very same issue. I believe that the instructor should explain how to enable these settings prior to going over the feature. People who are new to DAW's may not be able to figure it out. -Not explaining the definition of some words such as Compression & EQ. I think it is safe to assume that people watching anything in the 100 series are beginners to these platforms and need to understand what these "vocabulary" words are and how they effect the project. Disclosure that some of the Apple Loops or instruments that are used in the video may or may not be included in Logic Pro X, and is only being used as an example by the instructor. (They are probably loops that the instructor has purchased.) Over all Dave, was pretty thorough and I learned an immense amount of information due to his attention to detail, and time that he dedicated to make this video. Thank you so much.
Very good for beginning. Not too much of information, but everything is correct (in right place and time) :)
Very helpful for recording newbies like myself. Probably also useful for engineers of differing experiences, be they: intermediate, advanced, foreign, etc.
Yeah man. Really well done. Allowed me to reacquaint myself with Logic quickly and get going. Thanks D.E.
Fantastic start - everything you need here to get creating.
This is an absolutely outstanding tutorial. David Earl is a gifted instructor.
Excellent stuff--I've been using Logic for years but it was always doing stuff I dint understand. Now I do! Thank you.
Really Good, the best is that if i don't get something i can just pause , rewind, or watch again. The only downside is that I'm a newbie - and i can't get my Audio interface output bussed right.... now I'm on here trying to get an idea as to a solution. But hey, whilst my output built in output on the computer works, i might just adjust back to built in input and output and follow your tutorials and have fun. In a nutshell, I'm looking for a "setup video".
thanks david, and thank you MPV for having david as a trainer. very well done. looking forward to more on LPX from you. LPX=life cheers
I have been following David Earl (sflogicninja) since his excellent tutorials from youtube. I was so happy to see he is working for MacProVideo now. Always relatable and concise. I am currently somewhere in the middle of your 105 course and…my mind is blown. Thanks Dave!
I found this course to be really helpful and let me look under the hood and see things that I have not using in 9 and looking a the new things in X this is awesome!
Good start for Logic Pro X. Covers the GUI and new features well.
This is a good introduction to the course. I had to rewind the video a few times when I didn’t see exactly where the cursor was placed during selection but I figured it out.
Great addition from logic 9 to 10. Dave explains things straight and to the point and easy to follow along.
I liked how the sections were broken down; makes it easy to go straight to a section for review or to keep progress of where I was in training. Material was easy to understand and very informative.
Great course!! David Earl does an excellent job going over all of the main features of Logic Pro X! Lots of good tips and tricks, as always!
The course is good, the teacher is kind of funny.Certainly i would recommend it to anyone who wants to start learning Logic Pro X.As an old student of logic and a faithful customer of MPV i only suggest that you change the music of the background of the summary section ,which is a good idea , but the music is ... well
I love these tutorials, I recently downloaded Logic Pro X and I was finding it hard to find decent tutorials on youtube. This site has been a life saver.
I was looking for this course as soon as Logic Pro X came out. It's a very good wrap of Logic's major functions for creating a song from scratch.
Actually, I've just watched again and is a pretty awesome start into logic X.
Fair enough for who is just starting into Daws or to review some basics, but I think it could have an in depth on plug-ins as is it was made for beginners.
An excellent quick into to Logic's new features and how to put together a track. Great stuff.
Superb beginner's guide to creating a song in Logic X from start to finish. Short, simple videos, loved the summaries at the end of each section, by far the best tutorial I've seen on MPV, thanks Dave
Thanks David for taking the time to provide this overview. The best teachings are simple and straight forward. I appreciate the walk through to getting the flavor of Logic X, which aided my decision in upgrading.
A concise, no-nonsense intro to Logic X. Worked well for me to introduce new things when updating from Logic 9. I hope he makes more in-depth tutorials soon!
Good intro for new Logic users. Covers a decent amount of ground without too much detail. I liked the review sections - nice touch.
A truly excellent course that not only gave me a great general grounding but has allowed me to really feel confident with Logic x
An absolutely fantastic course. Very useful for Logic9 users in getting to know d GUI and d new additions; & for new users of Logic, it's just a fantastic, thorough & to the point resource. 5 stars ++
Great introductory video on Logic X. David Earl is always a good trainer on various logic topics.
This is an amazing tutorial. David is good and funny in educating me. Loved it.
You've still got it David, thanks. Short, sweet, enjoyed it very much.
Excellent course. I see the education guru's have got involved with the chapter reviews.
David's an excellent tutor and a real pro at what he does. The lessons are so so so easy to follow, & I found myself making a beat in a few minutes by just watching the first section. Real good stuff.
Great overview. Hits all the right topics to get you started and helps you get ready to dig deeper.
this is my 4th tutorial in logic. still i cant get snuff..well done guys. im with u thru the rest of my life...
