Peter Schwartz does a wonderful job, on discussing how signal flow is an important aspect for all producers to grab basic knowledge of.
The third video in this course is the best tutorial video I have ever seen! Fantastically expressed and so clever, I couldn't help but continue digging deeper into this set of tutorials! Looking forward to discovering more courses in the future by Peter!
Fantastic course. Some trainers teach present content and teach concepts. Other trainers do it with brilliance and humor, such that the training course is art in and of itself. Such is this course. Extremely well presented, with the utmost professionalism. A real class act. Thank you, Peter, I learned a great deal!
This course is fantastic. I had a very rough understanding of signal flow at the beginning of the course and it answered all my questions, cleared up gray areas of my knowledge and opened my mind to so many more possibilities! Peter is very clear and has a great teaching style. THOROUGHLY enjoyed this course!
This course is simply amazing! Definitely one of the best courses I've taken so far on Macprovideo. Before watching it, I was confused with signal flow in Logic. I wasn't aware of the different things you could do with sends and subgroups. Peter is extremely knowledgeable and explains everything very clearly. I watched the whole course 2 times in a row to make the lessons really stick in my head, and now I can say I have a very deep understanding of signal flow in Logic. I recommend this course to anyone who is looking to take their production and engineering skills to the next level. Thanks Peter for this awesome course, you're the man!
An great course with an amazing instructor! It's always a risk injecting humor into these courses but Schwartz hits it on the head. More importantly, he gets across the point with a breezy, intuitive and easy-to-understand narrative. One of the best courses of its kind I've ever heard. Thanks Peter Schwartz and thanks MPV!!
Great course! Helped to clear up several key areas of confusion.
I am a semi-advanced user coming from many years in Logic 9. This course has a lot of basics in it but I came away with some great tips and Peter Schwartz is my new favorite instructor. Clear, clever, entertaining and his musical examples are high quality in both composition and pure sound. The qualities do not not necessarily make the course any more educational but it definitely makes the journey more pleasant.
Very useful course, with truly clear examples and topics very well explained. Very good the section on side chaining. thank's to the author and to Mac Pro Video.
Entertaining, engaging, and thought provoking! I fully enjoyed this course, thank you Peter Schwartz! The instruction is top-notch, and the music used for examples is tasteful and enjoyable. The corny jokes are great, too--if you're into that sort of thing.
Peter Schwartz's courses are just the right balance of detail, delivery rate, and support material (e.g. his musical examples are always interesting in their own right, which makes the whole experience more fun). Usually when I take a course I have several unanswered questions by the end, but I have very few with his courses (one for this course was: the vocoder gets the audio feed pre-mute button, then? Not an option for usual sends?). I'd say that signal flow is probably the most important thing to understand about a DAW, both to avoid frustration when trying to accomplish something that seems like it should be easy but where the help immediately available is not sufficient; and to know what's possible and what isn't, to begin with. (Happily with Logic Pro, what is possible is very broad indeed; I have yet to come across something I might want to do that it can't do.) I highly recommend this course.
This had very clear explanations and thoroughly showed how Logic's signal flow works including everything from the basics of sends, busses, and auxes all the way to entering the environment to set up input channels. I enjoyed this course very much and would definitely recommend it to others. Thanks!
Excellent tutorial on audio signal routing and very easy-to-follow, the instructor does a great job.
Easily the best audio-related course I have ever taken. It answered so many questions I had about Logic and about recording in general. The instruction is clear and the instructor is entertaining. (He wants more bong!)
I feel that I know a lot more than I did going into this course. Even though I've been working with Logic since 8, I still learned more than I had expected. Very clear and easy to follow! I recommend this course to beginners and experienced Logic users alike.
I truly wish I had watched this series sooner I would have made better mixes and it would of made me a much better audio engineer. This is by far one of the best and most useful audio useful courses (and I have taken many) I have taken in my life... Peter Schwartz is an awesome teacher, extremely detailed, breaks signal flow to you in baby steps.
Great little course on Logic Pro X signal flow! The tutor has a good sense of humour, made me laugh several times!
Extremely well delivered and designed. Very entertaining and easy to follow along.
Peter Schwartz was really great with his presentation. Very educational and presented in a way which made it easy to follow along. I enjoyed his humorous inflections every now and then which made the material more digestible..
Peter does a great job with this course and provides a very complete look at all of the signal routing options in Logic Pro X. I learned a lot and look forward to more courses from the instructor.
Learned a lot! Schwartz is such a prepared person with a great sense of humour that makes even the boring stuff more interesting. 5 stars!!
Great course and such a great instructing with combination of Logic Pro X and creative audio routing in clearly and logically laid out structure. Thank you
Learning is entertaining and enjoyable when the instructor adds pleasant humor. Cant wait to get to the next tutorial.
Really loved this one! Peter was very thorough. I have been using Logic for a long time and i use it professionally full time, and i learned a lot! And if you are new to the software, you MUST watch this. Great video and great teacher.
This course was incredibly entertaining and of course very informative. Peter makes great use of animation to explain something that isn't explained very well in the Logic GUI. I will definitely seek out his other courses.
Peter Schwartz is the best online teacher i've had so far. Very good course! Worth every penny!
Great information here!
One of the most important courses I've taken. This really makes signal flow easy to understand, and the instructor infuses the course with a friendly and humorous demeanor that keeps it interesting. I literally laughed out loud at many points over the entire course. Highly recommended.
Wonderful signal flow course. Many features the tutor touches on are well explained and executed. Would be great if some ideas were tutored with some "hands on" work; but that I'll have to do myself. Looking forward to more tutorials from Peter Schwartz!
I absolutely loved this course! Can't believe how many things I've been doing wrong on my mix and other really cool things that I can add now to it. Brilliant. We'll spent money.
Very useful course and explained very well.
This is an essential first course for anyone learning DAWs generally and Logic Pro X specifically. Peter Schwartz does a superlative job guiding us through signal flow ... I also love his humour. Kudos to you Peter.
Excellent course! I am just beginning to produce music and thus beginning to learn Logic Pro. After studying the complete course and also passing the not too easy exam I can clearly say: this course is didactical very well made. It's packed with lots of well explaining pictures and graphics - just right to understand everything easily. Also: the speaker is in a good mood and makes nice jokes. Here I had a lot of fun while learning. :-) I don´t speak english natively but could understand (almost) everything easily. Thanks a lot to Mr. Schwartz - please keep up this excellent work!! :-)
Very good stuff....Glued the gaps for me. Thanks Peter. You're a great teacher. Keep up the good work:)
Excellent tutorials. Use of graphics and Logic GUI really clarified signal flow concepts and how to use the Logic mixing board. Both entertaining and instructive. I give it 5 out of 5. Nice job Peter!
That was everything I wanted to know, neatly and conciesly packed into just under 1.5 hours. Peter is funny, clever and above all extremely insightful.
This is exactly what I needed. This makes now more sense and much clear in my sleepy head. I love when it is teaching in a funny way. I laughed so much. Thanks a lot for this. I want more.
Thanks for an amazing tutorial. I've been waiting for this one for years and didn't even know it. Everything is relevant, clearly explained and done so in good detail. If you are new to Logic, this and Core Logic 8 (I know it's dated but I have not seen Logic Pro x 101) are full of everything you need to know. Explained a lot of things that stumped me in my day to day use of using Logic. I really hope there is a follow up and can't wait to see more tutorials from Peter. On top of everything else, Peter was funny and the pace of the tutorial was perfect. That's just my opinion though, check out the preview for yourself. Thanks again Macpro and thanks Peter. Top class trainer!
I like the teacher, all very well explained. Not much to say, apart from good job!!!!
Lots of great information on signal flow within Logic. Applicable to all DAWs really.
Excellent course!! It covers a wide range of concepts and skills about signal flow in Logic X, and they can be applied to any studio setup!
Awesome course Peter.. Direct and clear One of the best. Also enjoyed your Midi Demystified, another great course. Keep them coming.
Truly enjoyed this course. Excellent information presented well, with a great sense of humor and style. Fantastic.
thank you, thank you, thank you...absolutely brilliant, peter. very informative; just what i wanted to learn. i'll be spending hours with this course. ps, did i say thank you?!? cheers
This man is superb. Not only as a teacher/instructor, but as a person as well, I presume. Peter for president!
Just great. When I started this course, I didn't know will it be useful for me or not. And first time I understand what are Busses for in Logic. Thanks :)
One of the most insightful Logic tutorials I've seen. Fundamentally important for any one wishing to be efficient with Logic:s workflow.
Great Course!! It'll clear up any confusion you have about Logic's signal flow works. Not only that, you'll be better able to setup and troubleshoot live sound situations as well. Definitely a must see course if you have any doubts about your knowledge of signal flow.
100 percent a 5 star.. put together well ..Covers and explains all study subject very well ..Plus with good workflow example..I really enjoyed this course
excellent, need more from this guy.. coolest instructor ever, nice energy. thanks for doing this series, cheers!
Awesome! I have learned more in the 16 hrs I have spent doing your tutorials here on MPV then I did in 2 years of music school. Thank you for keeping it entertaining and interesting. :)
I'm up to the fifteenth lesson. Mr. Schwartz portrays a clear and fairly concise description of the basic array of signal flows within Logic Pro X. The power and the magic of developing different patterns of sound creation is again to be realized with another of these Mac Pro videos. I'm glad to have found this website.
This is one of the most essential courses you must take in order to really learn what´s going on when you are in Logic and to solve any issues that could come in. It applies not only to Logic because this is for audio in general. A must see course!
Awesome course. I wish I had had this kind of instruction when I first tried to figure out how to make use of all the options with DAW's different recording processes. And then there is the dreaded tadah Environment. :-) The delivery is very fun, I cracked up several times Steve 's got such a musical sense of humor. Good stuff!!
One word - excellent. For me which is a hobbyist I finally understand how to use the mixer in a more advanced way than before this tutorial. Peter Schwartz is a very good trainer with his comforting voice.
Fantastic tutorial! I'm a veteran to recording, mixing, and sound design, but I'm new to Logic Pro and I always find something useful whenever I return to any text or tutorial. This would be the best place to start for anyone looking to dive into recording in Logic or any other medium. Peter Schwartz is both engaging and direct.
This isn't just a signal flow course. It covers that in depth but Peter also shows you the creative uses that it can be used for. It's one of the most inspiring tutorials I've watched and saved a lot of time digging through the manuals. Peter is right up there with Steve H in my book and I will be looking out for him in other courses.
Clear and Concise. Thank you, Peter !
Really amazing. What an incredible resource! Thank you so much. Im on to the next!
Congratulations to Peter Schwartz on his entertaining and insightful presentation of this course, packed with useful tips and information. During the presentation, Peter plays real life examples of the principles he is describing - for example, side chain compression - to illustrate how this feature sounds in a typical composition. It leaves you inspired to try out some of these features in your own works.
This is an excellent course. Contains every bit of information you need to know about signal flow in Logic; but also on how it compares to signal flow in hardware mixers. I've definitely learnt quite a bit and will be coming back to these for reference.
This is a good and fun look into how audio makes its way into, through and out of your LogicX setup. Lots of interesting tips that will help you plan out your sessions more effectively.
