What can Motion do with text? Well, anything you can possible imagine! With its advanced text creation and animation tools your 3D text can fly across the screen, rocket to the horizon and burst into molecular oblivion! Let Motion Master Michael Wohl show you how...
In this third tutorial in our Motion 5 series, “text-pert” Michael Wohl is very busy texting but instead of using his iPhone, he’s doing it with Motion 5!
Motion’s text manipulation potential is truly awesome. From simple crawls and scrolls to explosive animations Motion does it all—and Michael Wohl shows you how! He starts off with a solid summary of the basic tools. Then Michael explains the various text styles and all the ways to format and transform individual letters to whole paragraphs. Next Michael explores Paths, and how to use Motion’s collection of tools and presets for creating interesting Shapes and Splines. After that there’s an in-depth section on creating scrolls and crawls for those breaking news moments and movie-style credits.
The final section is all about animation and this is where Motion shines! Michael shows how to deploy the vast library of included behaviors to animate letters all around the frame in every way imaginable.
So join Michael Wohl in this inspiring Motion 5 video “textbook” and learn how to get you text in motion!

My friends at the Apple store recommended macPro but II was was still quite skeptical. I looked at a couple of the sample training videos but wasn't overly impressed. Based mostly on the recommendations of my Apple friends I decided to invest my money and my time and I am very, very happy I did. The training is laid out in short, easy-to-understand sequences and amazingly even I can completely understand what is being taught. For my purposes both the Motion course content and the presentation are brilliantly done. I could not be more satisfied.
Great series of videos....Micheal does an excellent job taking a very difficult concept and dissecting it "gently" and "precisely" to able the student to understand some complex features. One suggestion is for these courses to be more interactive and to have the student sit in front of a computer and practice as Micheal goes through the lesson. I did it and it help me a lot.....
Loving this set of courses about Motion. All the possibilities of animation just with text is amazing.
Michael Wohl knows his stuff, his fluent and clear style of instructions wets the creative pallet.
There are so many options. The last few modules are jam packed with killer information. Watching these videos allowed my diving into Motion much easier. The tools are laid before you.
If you know Photo-Shop this will be elementary, as far as text basics. Animations and behaviors, well thats a Motion specialty and goes deep. These videos are much better than PDF manuals. Thanks MVP
Really thoughtful, detailed, patient. I did find it best to have Motion open and do the course (with my own text) alongside. I think he's an excellent teacher. Thanks MacPro.
Yet again, I am more than impressed. Step by step illustrations are invaluable in getting to grips with new applications and by revealing hidden depths which would otherwise take some considerable time to uncover. Michael Wohl has a relaxed approach to his delivery while reflecting his enthusiasm and deep knowledge of his subject. As I have said before, MacProVideo ranks amongst the very best for computerised training covering a wide range of the post popular programmes.
