Using an all-digital workflow when creating, mixing and producing your music doesn't mean you have to leave that wonderfully organic and "chills-down-your-spine" analog sound behind. We invited award winning mixer/producer/guitarist Rich Tozzoli to come in and show you how you can bring that warmth and punch back into your mixes, using an amazing array of incredibly powerful (and fun to look at!) plugins from UA. He answered our call by crafting this 54-tutorial masterpiece!

In this massive, take-no-prisoner audio course, Rich shows you why he picks one plugin over another and explains how to get the most of each one to make your tracks really speak! You'll watch and learn as Rich moves deftly and expertly across the virtual mixing board, sprinkling some carefully chosen plugin ingredients over drums (both live and virtual), bass, guitars, keyboards and even vocals, to give them that Oomph and bring out their warm, analog personality so they stand out in your mix.

Great overview of UAD plug ins used in a production environment. The highlight for me was a tip for the LA-2A plugin: Use two plugins in series the first as a compressor the second as a limiter.
Rich does a good job of demoing a ton of UA plug-in both on their own in mixes. Quite a few tricks here!
Great little course. Not deep at all in terms of technique.. But i thought it was great for checking out a bunch of amazing plugins. And there were a few useful tips in there too. I have been considering a UAD card for a while and this course allowed me to see and hear a lot of the plugins i have been considering. Totally getting one now! Good stuff!
The only reason I give this course a low star rating is that its not my DAW & I do not (unfortunately) have any UAD plug-ins. If you've got them then this is for you.
I'm giving thanks to MPV for giving me the opportunity to learn mixing from Rich Tozzoli a recognized specialist in his field. I don't know how else this would have been possible!
There's quite a few tricks to be learnt on mixing, but also goes around UAD plugins only. Would be very useful if you own the plugins, otherwise will just make you jealous as they are quite expensive (still way cheaper than the real thing). You can adapt some tricks to your own plugins though.
Awesome Course covering UAD Plugins. Thats mostly what I use. This course actually goes through each setting ; helping me discover things about my UAD plugins that I had no idea even existed.
Great Tutorial Very in Depth Covers every spectrum of the mixing process
This course covers many genre, helping to identify best practices for each music type. However, not all of the mixing choices are easy to hear. Watch with good headphones and on HD.
Lots of plug-ins shown in here with good examples to show how they all work. Most of them are expensive (and require special hardware), but the ideas shown are transferable to other systems.
I hate to sound negative after the forgoing glowing reviews, but this tutorial didn't do much for me. Rich seems like a good instructor (and musician). He enunciates well, and his explanations were clear. But I have to wonder who has that kind of awesome plugin collection and would also not be familiar with how to use them? The manipulation of the plugins did not seem all that high-powered to me....pretty much straightforward mixing techniques. And, for about two thirds of the videos, the relative volumes of the music vs. the voice over made it hard to hear the differences he was describing without cranking the voice over to an annoying level. The main take-away for me was plugin-envy.
Excellent uses of UAD-2 Plug-Ins. Glad the plug in world is catching up to the Analog world.
Even though the course is dedicated to the use of UA plugins, how each effect is shaped and adjusted to the instrument can be used with other similar software plugins. Easy to grasp.
i really loved every tutorial,i am an artist sonwriter and producer, and is great to develop skills as an ingeneer, please more tutorials of mixing or producers ingeneers who wants to share their experience, love it thanks A.L
I would like to have projects.
Rich is one of the best tutorial author to me. This tutorial is truly inspirational for all the people using the "in the box" approach. I'd strongly recomend this to everybody but if you got UAD plug-ins in your arsenal .. you must have this tutorial, no excuses, a great investment to get out the best from one of the best tool in the market. I'd love to see a similar tutorial on tracking with UAD Apollo and plug-ins, that would rock my world.
This is one of the coolest tutorials I have seen yet. I love the way Rich takes the time to let us listen to the sounds he is effecting. He give us the sound with the plugin and bypassed a couple times with every video. I felt that I was finally able to hear what was being done with each plugin. Great presentation, and a great software bundle. And the music was fitting, and enjoyable to listen to. Although I like electronic music, Rich's choice of rock and roll really showed off what the different units are capable of. Thanks for this one, I just loved it!
